Obituary for Edwin Illman

Edwin Illman
EDWIN "TED" ILLMAN

Ted Illman, 83, of Mitchell passed away suddenly at his home on Tuesday, July 25, 2017.

A history together full of shared memories with his loving wife Ellen that kept them close for 59 years. He farmed the family homestead in Logan Township until he retired to Mitchell in 2003. He was Councillor and Reeve of Logan Township and also served as the Warden of Perth County in 1990. A fan of all sports, he especially enjoyed playing, coaching and refereeing hockey and the many hunting trips with family and friends. Ted also enjoyed the coffee shop, playing cards, volunteering at the West Perth Memorial Forest and spending time with his grandchildren.

Dear father of Delford Illman (Mary), Yvonne Livingston (David), Murray Illman (Corey), Ken Marenger (Nancy) and Brenda Illman. Cherished grandfather of 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Dear brother-in-law of Anna Mae Illman, Ferne Wickenheiser (Otto Weber), Robert Schell (Mary Forsyth), Harry Schell (Shirley), Anna Hamilton (Hugh), Cathy Schippers (John), David Schell (Marg) and Della Jezard.

He was the last surviving member of his immediate family having been predeceased by four brothers and four sisters.

A private family service will be held. Memorial donations to Main St. United Church Building Fund or West Perth Memorial Forest would appreciated and may be made at www.LockhartFuneralHome.com.
